Don&#039;t worry, I got you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Is &#034;Coworker Metal&#034;?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the ever-fractured world of heavy music where subgenres splinter endlessly (and sometimes very pointlessly), few slang terms are as loaded as &#034;coworker metal.&#034;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its core, coworker metal is a joking (and often pejorative) label for mainstream, radio-friendly heavy metal and hard rock. It&#039;s the kind of music you&#039;re likely to hear blasting from a warehouse speaker, a construction site radio, your bus driver&#039;s shitty Bluetooth, or a setup in the breakroom. Importantly, many of these bands are commercially successful and technically skilled. When metal becomes too radio-friendly, it risks losing that outsider edge that helped define the genre&#039;s early identity. But at the same time, metal has always evolved.
